“Do the best favour you can do for yourself and join!”
Kiran has been attending sessions with our trainer Erik since May 2016. She came to us hoping to lose some weight and get her energy back to where it used to be.
After losing an amazing 30+ lbs in 3 months, Kiran was kind enough to take the time to answer a few questions for us about our program and her time with us so far!
When did you first join SmartFit?
Kiran: I first joined SmartFit on May 9th, 2016.
What is your favourite part of the workouts?
Kiran: My favourite part of the workouts has been the constant motivation and encouragement I have been getting. Erik has been great at explaining what each workout routine does for my body and always ensures that the form is correct to guarantee the most benefit is being achieved.
Have you tried other nutrition plans in the past? If so, is the SmartFit nutrition plan different than you’ve done before?
Kiran: I have tried many different nutritional diets that I have found online but none of them ever worked for me. Once I had signed up with SmartFit, one of the first things Erik addressed was the importance of nutrition. Being that I have hypothyroidism, there has always been that worry in my mind that I wouldn’t be able to lose weight – I was proven wrong! The nutrition plan that was created for me during my first few sessions has done such an amazing job in combination with the workout sessions. The SmartFit nutrition plan was easy and straight forward to follow. I knew what I could have and what I couldn’t, which I found made it easier for me to plan my meals.
What has been your favourite part of the SmartFit program as a whole?
Kiran: The morning sessions have definitely been one of my favourite parts of the program. Erik is always very welcoming and is extremely knowledgeable in what he does. I enjoy coming in three times a week for my morning sessions because I know I can look forward to a good work out!
What were your goals before you began with us?
Kiran: I initially signed up for a 3-month commitment with the goal of losing 10 pounds per month. I also wanted to start feeling healthier and get my energy back to where it used to be.
Have your goals been met and/or surpassed in your time with us?
Kiran: I am very happy to say that my goals have been met; I have been able to lose 30 pounds within the 3-month commitment that I had set out for myself. I also decided to extend my commitment and am aiming to get back into the best shape that I have ever been in.
When and in what ways did you first start to see results?
Kiran: I began seeing results immediately. I was extremely determined to make sure that I made no excuses for myself and followed everything that Erik had asked me to do to ensure the best results. I began noticing the number on the scale drop, I started noticing that my clothing started to become looser, and also the lift in energy that I had. Physically and mentally I just felt a lot better than what I used to feel like. My fiancé, family, and friends also began noticing changes weekly, which was extremely encouraging!
Have you experienced any positive benefits from working with SmartFit besides weightloss?
Kiran: I definitely have felt a lot of positive benefits, as I mentioned above, I feel physically and mentally more energized. I have gained a lot more physical strength and have also gained self-confidence. I work full time and am a full time student as well, so I tend to function on smaller amounts of sleep, but the workouts and the nutritional plan have definitely made me feel a lot better than how I used to feel before I started with SmartFit.
Do you have any advice for individuals considering joining us?
Kiran: I would recommend you do the best favour you can do for yourself and just join! It has been such an amazing experience and I cannot wait to continue my journey with SmartFit.
