Success Story: Dave Forshaw

“Joining a SmartFit Program is one of the best things you can do for yourself”

Dave began attending sessions with our trainer Erik in April 2016. He came to us hoping to lose some weight and get in shape to keep up with active grandkids.

After losing an amazing 46 lbs, Dave was kind enough to take the time to answer a few questions for us about our program and his time with us so far!


When did you first join SmartFit?

Dave: I joined SmartFit in April 2016 after seeing some great results from two fellow workers.

What is your favourite part of the workouts?

Dave: I enjoy just “going” and experiencing the feeling of doing my best during the workout. Workouts are held in an easy going, motivational, and nonjudgmental environment. 

Have you tried other nutrition plans in the past? If so, is the SmartFit nutrition plan different than you’ve done before?

Dave: No. My experience with Erik and SmartFit are my first.

What has been your favourite part of the SmartFit program as a whole?

Dave: Initiation at SmartFit begins with some nutritional info, when you take that information and apply it to your daily life, you will see that the whole program makes sense and is so easy to follow, perhaps my favourite part of the program is just that fact; that it’s so easy and results quickly follow.

What were your goals before you began with us?

Dave: I hadn’t set specific goals, just that as a grandfather I needed to lose some weight and shape up to keep up with a couple of active grandkids. 

Have your goals been met and/or surpassed in your time with us?

Dave: Let’s just say that I love spending time out and about with the grandkids!

When and in what ways did you first start to see results?

Dave: Results came quickly in the form of lost weight and inches so new clothes were soon needed, and with weight loss and exercise also comes some long lost muscle definition.

Have you experienced any positive benefits from working with SmartFit besides weightloss?

Dave: I look and feel so much better with a renewed self-confidence (and the ability to much more easily bend over to tie my shoes!)

Do you have any advice for individuals considering joining us?

Dave: My advice is very simple, it’s that joining and getting started in a SmartFit program is one of the best things you can do for yourself both physically and mentally.
